Holy crap, looks like just the tireand rim in the last frame of the
vid but in any case, how the heck does that happen?

Yeah, I saw the recap on Speed last night and they said the spokes and
rim separated from the hub, but that does not explain it coming
completely off. Its like a Chinese magic trick!

Single sided swingarm - after the spokes break, what's going to keep the rim/tire
from going off on its own?

Not really like that. The wheel just collapsed, and caused him to
have quite a serious crash.
